If you have ever heard of the thing called the Tenori On from Yamaha, then you will know a little bit about how to use this application I am talking about. There is an Adobe Air program called Weepr acts almost like a Tenori On. It is a window with all the buttons on it and it has 5 layers you can set buttons on. If you hit the play button at the bottom, you can hear a beat that you just put in. It is kind of hard to explain, so I would get it and test it out, it’s free!

Last night, I was introduced by Chris Pirillo to a cool piece of software for both Mac and Windows called GoToMeeting. This software allows you to host a meeting where people can join with a Meeting ID and share desktops and interact with voice and by chat. You can also use this to help someone with computer problems, kind of like remote desktop software. It costs money, but you get a 30 Day Free Trial. If you go to this link, thanks to Chris Pirillo, you can get an extra 15 days added to your trial.

For those of you like me, an IRC user, you are on a piece of software running on a server somewhere in the world. One of the most common of these pieces of IRC software, also known as IRCd’s, is called Unreal IRCd. Just about all of the networks I am on use this IRCd. I used to use it when I was running an IRC network and I pretty much know how to install it in my sleep. It is a very stable and reliable piece of software that I think everyone starting a network should use. It is very easy to set up and it is completely free. If you don’t get how to set it up there are many tutorials and even an IRC chat room on Unreal’s own IRC network that will be able to help you. So, what are you waiting for? Go install Unreal!

If you are on a Mac and are looking for a simple and easy to use text editor, I suggest using what I use which is TextWrangler. It is strictly for Mac and is one of the very few I could really find. You can edit just about any type of file such as HTML, PHP, JavaScript, XML, etc. It is free software and really has no big things on it, just editing files. I’ve been using it since the day I got a Mac and have never had any problems with it. I hope you can try it and start enjoying it as much as I have.

For all of you Wii and Animal Crossing fans out there, this past Sunday was probably something you were looking forward too for a very long time. I bought the next game in the Animal Crossing series, Animal Crossing: City Folk on its release Sunday. I actually sat outside of Starbucks in the cold using their Internet for 2 hours waiting for GameStop to open. It ended well because I was the first person in the store and I got the first copy right out of the box. Anyway, I played the game as soon as I got home and it has been absolutely incredible. It beats all of the past 2 games combined. With the new city part of the game, it makes it even better. If you are a fan of the series, get it. If you haven’t played an Animal Crossing game before, get this and try it.

My first email client I have ever used was Eudora. I found it very useful until I decided to try one of Mozilla’s products, Thunderbird. It is a very nice and organized email client that is very simple to setup and use. When setting up an email account, it takes you through step by step and is simple for anyone to use. I primarily use it to get email from my websites on my server. There is a plug-in for Thunderbird called Webmail where you can even add accounts like AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail and many more. If you are looking for a easy to use email client with a nice and simple interface, Thunderbird is for you.

Sometime last week or so, Chris Pirillo did an update on Twitter about a website giving licenses for a certain piece of software out for free for a whole day. The software is called CrossOver Mac Pro and I got my license for it a few days ago. This software allows you to use just about any Windows software on your Mac without having to run in a Virtual Machine on a whole other OS. I think it works great because it works like a native app and runs through one of my favorite pieces of software I use on Linux called Wine. It is to late now to get a free license, but you can get it for $69.95.

Since about late May, I have had a self-made bot that I call WiiBot. My bot, which I scripted myself, is a bot that does all kinds of fun things and provides some service to peoples channels on the Wyldryde IRC Network. WiiBot is not as popular right now, but I want to get more ideas for it and advertise it more. A few days ago, I bought the Official WiiBot Website which you can find by going here. If you would like to have WiiBot in your channel, come to #wiibot on irc.wyldryde.org and request it. Also, visit the website for more information.

One of my friends, easy_way, told me to try out this thing called OpenDNS. now, I have been hearing everyone talk about it and when he told me to try it, I did and I am glad I did. OpenDNS is a way to enhance the speed of your network. You can also do some things like set a level of protection against certain websites, blacklist websites and make shortcuts to websites. It really does work and it is all free whether you have a Static or Dynamic IP Address. I really urge you to try it out, here is a link to get to it.
