I have been using Google Chrome as my default browser for about a week now. The official beta just recently came out for Mac, so I decided to give it a try. Even though it is still in the early stages of development, it is a really nice browser. It has a nice and simple interface, which is nice, but hopefully it will get more when comes to features. It does have themes, which are very nice, and hopefully there will be a wider variety of them later. It has only a few preferences, one of the most useful, in my opinion, would be the Privacy settings. The biggest reason why I picked Google Chrome as my default browser is its speed because it is one of the fastest browsers I have ever used. Since it is a beta, they have a good bit of bugs such as crashes, flash problems (not just because flash sucks), and problems loading pages sometimes. There are a lot more bugs than I have put here, but I am confident that Google will continue to fix these throughout the beta.

For the past few weeks I have been using the pre-release version of Firefox 3.5. This morning, the final release of Firefox 3.5 came out. If it is anything like the pre-release, it should be an excellent browser. It doesn’t crash all the time anymore (mainly when using Flash), it runs JavaScript a little bit better (but not like Safari 4 does), and there are plenty of features. If you are already a Firefox user or have never tried Firefox, you have to get Firefox 3.5. It is worth the time and space to use it.
On Monday, the day of the WWDC Keynote, Apple took Safari 4 out of beta. I like using Safari, but not as much as I like FireFox. However, I still use Safari constantly. The new Safari includes an extremely fast JavaScript engine, Top Sites, and some new looks. It is definitely changed since Safari 3 and it is really fast. I strongly recommend getting it now if you haven’t already. I am very impressed with how good, fast, and stable this browser is. Most of you know, Flash has the tendency to crash mainly Safari, but I haven’t had it crash yet, so that is a really good sign. Anyway, just try it. It is for Mac or Windows and it runs great on both.
