On Monday, the day of the WWDC Keynote, Apple took Safari 4 out of beta. I like using Safari, but not as much as I like FireFox. However, I still use Safari constantly. The new Safari includes an extremely fast JavaScript engine, Top Sites, and some new looks. It is definitely changed since Safari 3 and it is really fast. I strongly recommend getting it now if you haven’t already. I am very impressed with how good, fast, and stable this browser is. Most of you know, Flash has the tendency to crash mainly Safari, but I haven’t had it crash yet, so that is a really good sign. Anyway, just try it. It is for Mac or Windows and it runs great on both.

For a while now, I have been using an open source browser engine for Safari called Webkit. This basically is a more stable and faster version of Safari and is available for Windows and Mac. It also has an option to download the source code. I am using the Nightly Builds so it does have an update quite often. I really suggest you use it because it is fast, reliable, stable and easy to use and its free, everyone likes free! You can find Webkit here.
The Official Safari 4 Web Browser was released to the public yesterday morning. I decided to download it so I can do a blog post on it. Well, compared to Safari 3, I have noticed a few enhanced and new things. First, the look. The main part of this new look is that the tabs are on the title bar instead of under the address or bookmarks bar. It also has a new feature called Top Sites. This feature is a graphical interface in Safari that has icons and titles of your most visited web sites. To me, that is a pretty handy feature. The other enhancements I have noticed were that it is a lot more stable and the performance is way better than Safari 3. While it is only still a beta, I hope that Apple continues to improve the stability and performance and hopefully gets better RSS support.
